Halloween - Wow, Candy Galore

I would say we had a very successful Halloween!  This is really the first Halloween that Anna and Ethan really went trick or treating.  Megan was a maniac running from house to house with all the neighbors (she is dressed as the witch), Ethan (Thomas) pooped out when he found out we were going to continue around the block and Anna (Care Bear) didn't care how far we went - if I was going then she was too.  She's my Velcro baby!  We all met at a neighbors house and then went out for a bit.  After about an hour we came back to their house to warm up and then the older kids went out again with the some of the adults for a little while ago.

We got an ENORMOUS amount of candy between the 3 kids...really just two since Ethan didn't last very long.  Not only were people very generous with the amount they were giving the kids, but since it was the first time we had anyone other than Megan out it really added to the gross earnings!

So this is just about full - it is a medium sized Toys R Us bag.  Really it's kind of gross, all that candy!  We have already hidden the bag (out of site, out of mind) and are rationing.  I've gotten some good ideas on what to do with extra candy...kids who didn't get any and sending some to the troops.  Anyone else have anything they do with their extras?  I'd love to hear more ideas!

Hope everyone had a great Halloween!

Jodi

I turned in over 2 lbs of candy to our orthodontist this afternoon - they are collecting it for the troops!

Some dentists will buy them from you! Here they pay $1 a pound. My daughter only got about 20 pieces, so thankfully we don't have extras. You could also take your children to a nursing home and have them give some out there, my Aunt loves candy and looks forward to have it at the nursing home.

My three made out well too. My oldest wants to take his in to school to get the 1 per pound of candy. He doesn't eat much of it at all he just loves to trick or treat.

We live way out so even though we went out for over an hour and walked forever (so it seemed to the woman pushing the Elmo in a stroller)the kids got a very manageable amount. Especially after the weeding out of the disliked candy that was happily accepted by Dad.

Thanks for following me at Teens and a Toddler... I am still very new to all this and wish I new way more about computers and web pages, but I will slowly get there!
